Petrolíferos Lobo and Oz Studio Expand TRACE From Petroleum Into Pharmaceutical and Supplement Traceability

Proven petroleum traceability methodology enters development for medicines and supplements with UK health AI company Gaston AI.

New York, NY, Sept. 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Petrolíferos Lobo and Oz Studio (Oz Branding) announced the expansion of TRACE — the Traceability, Regulatory Assurance & Custody Evidence System — from petroleum into pharmaceuticals, supplements and other health products.

The announcement follows the September 21 presentation of TRACE and its successful application to petroleum traceability in Mexico to the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The presentation was delivered by Daniel Osuna of Oz Studio.

TRACE was developed by Petrolíferos Lobo and Oz Studio to give petroleum clients greater certainty regarding the origin, documentation, regulatory consistency and chain of custody of the products they receive, particularly at a time when huachicol fiscal has cast a broader shadow over confidence in Mexico’s legitimate petroleum industry.

Rather than treating traceability as a collection of documents, TRACE creates an interactive evidence chain. The petroleum application follows information from purchase and importation through customs, fiscal documentation, permits, transport, driver assignment, physical seals, GPS routing and final delivery.

Its verification architecture combines AI-assisted document interpretation with deterministic rules, official-source validation, cross-document comparison, cryptographic fingerprinting, digital signatures, trusted timestamps and an auditable custody ledger.

Petrolíferos Lobo and Oz Studio (Oz Branding in Mexico) are now expanding the TRACE methodology into pharmaceutical and supplement provenance, with Gaston AI developing the health-sector implementation in coordination with the TRACE team. Gaston AI is a UK based AI-powered preventive health company led by Founder and CEO, Dr Yogesh Gupta . Working sessions between Dr. Gupta and Osuna took place in New York during UNGA81 to define how TRACE’s verification architecture can be adapted to medicines, supplements and consumer health products.

The development responds to an increasingly complex health-commerce environment. GLP-1 medicines are now used for weight loss by roughly 11% of U.S. adults, while concerns continue around counterfeit, improperly compounded and illegally marketed products sold outside authorized channels. Similar provenance issues affect supplements, counterfeit pain medications and so-called “gas station drugs.”

The expanded TRACE methodology is being designed to evaluate manufacturer identity, batch and lot information, laboratory documentation, regulatory status, authorized distribution, seller legitimacy, packaging identifiers and chain of custody.

Gaston AI’s implementation will integrate these TRACE principles into its health intelligence platform through a co-development model with the original TRACE team. It will add a medication and supplement provenance layer designed to surface verifiable evidence about the products people ingest, alongside biomarker- and nutrition-led insights.
